Dear GM/GM's

I would like to report an issue regarding the farm zones. For several weeks everything was calm and players could farm normally in Fafurion. Recently, however, some players started running through the areas and killing people who are simply autofarming. They are PKing players without any reason and just disrupting farming.
This makes it very difficult for people who are trying to farm peacefully in these zones.
Would it be possible to place PK guards in the farm zones as well, similar to other protected areas? This could help prevent random PKing and keep the zones fair for everyone who is farming.
I understand players that like to play PvP thats one thing... here are alot PvP Zones + Coliseum etc... but run and PK players without any reason doesnt belong into a AFK farmfriendly Server.. thanks for reading this and i hope you can understand a bit what i mean!
Thank you for your time and support.

Hi, let me add my two cents here.
We should aproach fafu place like a high risk, high reward place. Sure, you can get pk'd there, but it's a good farming place. You can get anything there. Maybe increase the reward part, and it will drag more real people there, and it can create some actions.
Placing guards everywhere just makes it harder to find actions.

I don't understand, and I really disagree. All the top farming zones are saturated with guards. I can understand it in low-level zones, but in top zones? Why not just fill the server with guards? Or better yet, prohibit attacks on other players and only allow them in TW and sieges? The truth is, if I go to Kariks, it's full of mages and I can't farm, and the same thing happens everywhere. There's already enough punishment with the high amount of karma and the difficulty in lowering it, and adding more guards, especially in top zones, ruins the experience.

High risk high reward??? You get maybe like 1.5 times more than autofarming on isle of payers Adena and maybe some normal enchant scrolls and some Top Ls... its not x10 like isle of prayers drop, so its totally fine with the guards in fafu zone.

Oh, so you are one of them players having fun to PK autofarmers? If you want action like you said you have TW, Siege, PvP Zones, Coliseum, +you can PvP if you see someone agree to it. But PK autofarmers? This should be forbidden. Sry

Deberian sacar los guardias de todos lados.
No, somos adultos que no podemos estar sentados delante del PC durante horas y tenemos familia. No podemos vigilar a nuestros personajes las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana.

I totally agree with Kyaro! PK hast nothing to do with action, if you want action: go Pvp Zones, Coliseum, Wars, Sieges. Its just annoying get PK by random guys.. you come home from work and character farm nothing... good Idea with Guards in Fafurion Zone!

I fully agree with Kyaro. People are adults; they have families, kids, etc. We just want to chill and farm peacefully from Monday to Friday and play on the weekend whenever we have time. L2Axis is the only server that offers something like that. If it were up to me, I would have introduced penalties for PK that are ten times harsher.
If someone plays L2 mainly for PK reasons, then they should go to Russian servers. People there are so addicted to PK that you can’t even play for 10 minutes without someone going PK.
L2 is such a great game, and L2Axis already offers many different features for PvP players. And no matter who says what, people only PK for two reasons:

1. to claim a farming spot for themselves, and
2.an even uglier reason: the person who supports PK simply likes to annoy other players.

For these people, the fun in the game only exists when they can harm other players—just like a little mean kid who destroys someone else’s sandcastle. That’s exactly what it’s like. Sorry, but that’s how it is.
And if someone says “go play Tetris,” then I say: go play PUBG, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc. Finally grow up and play with each other, not against each other.

That's the way the game works. If you don't want to get hunted, resign yourself to farming in low-level areas. All servers are the same; the top areas are highly contested. Many players have already quit the game precisely because of this: getting fully geared only to have five mages with full sets placed next to you, ruining your farming. So what's the point of progressing?

1. The “we’re adults with families” argument is irrelevant.

This is an emotional fallacy.

Having:

children

a job

little time

doesn’t change the game’s design.

It’s like saying:

“I’m an adult, I have kids, so in Counter-Strike they shouldn’t shoot me while I’m planting the bomb.”

The game doesn’t adapt to your free time.
You choose the game that suits you.

If someone wants to farm without interference, there are games made for that:

WoW PvE servers

Final Fantasy XIV

Diablo

even Lineage 2 PvE servers

But Lineage 2 was designed for conflict.

2. Reducing PK to “annoyance” is a childish oversimplification.

It says that PK only exists for two reasons:

spotting

annoyance

That’s false.

In Lineage 2, PK (Player Killing) has many strategic functions:

1. Territorial control

A strong clan clears entire areas to monopolize farming.

2. Economic pressure

If you kill the farmers of another clan, you reduce their income.

3. Psychological dominance

In Lineage 2, fear is also a tool.

If your clan has a reputation for being dangerous, people avoid your spots.

4. Strategic provocation

Sometimes PK is used to force wars.

3. The argument ignores that PK is already punished.

Lineage 2 already penalizes PK.

Karma

Equipment drops

Guards attacking

Time wasted clearing karma

In other words:

The system is already balanced.

Asking for penalties ten times stronger means something else:

They want to eliminate PK without saying so directly.

4. The Biggest Contradiction in the Argument

It says:

“Grow up and play together, not against each other.”

But L2 is literally a game about conflict between players.

L2's PvP isn't a minigame.

It's the backbone of:

clans

castles

the economy

server politics

Asking people not to compete in L2 is like asking in chess:

“Let's play together, not against each other.”

Yes, sure I'll add the PK guards to Fafurion zone soon.
I understand that the final decision always rests with the server administration, and I respect that. But from my perspective, many of the complaints on the forum seem more like attempts to change the essence of the game itself than a genuine problem with the system.

Lineage 2 has always been based on competition for resources. Key spots aren't designed to be "safe," but rather to be contested. This tension between players, clans, and groups is precisely what keeps the game alive.

That's why I'm concerned to see how anti-PK measures, especially guards in farming areas, have ended up creating another problem: the complete saturation of some key locations. If you look at areas like Chromatic or Kariks, it's easy to see what's happening. The spots are completely full, and there's practically no real way to contest a spot. The result is simple: whoever gets there first stays, and the others can only wait or leave.

Instead of balancing the game, these protections end up creating an artificial imbalance where certain spots are blocked by sheer, permanent occupancy. And that goes directly against the competitive spirit that has always characterized L2.

I'm not asking for all protection to be removed. It makes sense to have measures in low-resource areas or to protect new players. But in high-farm areas, the situation should be different, because that's where competition between players should naturally exist.

In any case, I know the final decision rests with you as administrators. I just wanted to offer this perspective as a player who believes that part of Lineage 2's appeal has always been precisely the struggle for resources and territory.

Regards.

Your arguments are only relevant if we are playing on a server that doesn’t have AFK farms. The fact that there is auto-hunting here already shows that this is a place where people want to play in a relaxed way.

All your arguments about clans, TW, etc. carry weight on PK-addicted servers, where PvE is only a side activity. Those kinds of servers are mostly a thing of the past. If you really want that kind of action, then you have to go to Russian servers (like I already said). There PvE has no real purpose — there basically is no PvE; it’s just PK junkies.

The more guards there are, the more opportunities everyone has. Everyone can earn equally and become equally strong. Without guards, only those who have time 24/7 can achieve anything.

You say that PvP is the most important thing in L2?! And I say no — it’s only one part of it.
Can L2 exist without PvE, without monsters? No, it can’t.
Can L2 exist without PK (I’m not talking about Clan Wars, Territory Wars, sieges, etc.)? Yes, absolutely — just without PK players who ruin the fun for others.
And PK supporters like you will be the first to cry out to the admin (“protect us!”) when a few rich kids join, buy everything at +16, form a clan with 20 active members, and start killing everyone 24/7.

First of all, the final decision will always rest with the administration, that much is clear. But I think your argument has a rather obvious contradiction.

You say the server is designed for relaxed gameplay, with auto-farming, and that guards create more opportunities for everyone. But in practice, that already exists in many areas of the server. There are several areas where farming peacefully is already possible: SoA, Isle, Chromatic, Dragon Valley, among others. In other words, the space for relaxed gameplay is already there.

So the real question is different:
if multiple protected areas already exist for peaceful farming, why try to turn every area of the game into the same?

Because what ends up happening is what we're already seeing: saturated spots, people occupying places for hours without any real competition. The result isn't more opportunities, but the opposite: spots become blocked simply due to occupation.

There's also something you're not considering. Competition for spots isn't the same as "ruining the fun." In Lineage 2, resource competition has always been part of the game's design. If two groups want the same spot, one wins and the other loses. That's not toxicity; it's simply the game's natural mechanics.

Your argument suggests that everyone should be able to farm equally and without interference. But if we take that logic to the extreme, the conclusion would be quite simple: why not just ask everyone to be friends, form a mega-clan, and share all the spots?

That wouldn't be Lineage 2 anymore. It would basically be a cooperative mob-killing simulator.

Furthermore, the problem you mention—strong clans dominating—doesn't disappear with more protections. In fact, the opposite happens: when there's no way to compete for resources, the first ones to occupy a spot simply keep it indefinitely. That doesn't create equality; it creates stagnation.

If someone wants to farm in peace, perfect: there are already areas for that. But there should also be room for competition in the most valuable areas. That mix is precisely what has always kept the game alive.

Because if the entire map becomes a safe zone, then we're no longer balancing the game... we're removing one of its core mechanics.

If the guards are removed, then 95% of the players will be gone as well. Then only the PK kids will remain, and the server will die.
